Wedding Diary - Week 24th November 2014

Gosh this week has been a difficult, busy week at work. It also didn't help that I barely slept. This week we have a had a live rendition of fox and the hound, LITERALLY!

There is a fox that lives round near us and it decided to sit at out doorstep and bark/yap/whine through the door at my dog (I know it was on our doorstep because my bf went out to shoo it away and it just looked up at him) so obviously my dog started barking back.
None stop. At 2am. Each night.
Honestly surprised I didn't murder anyone this week I've been so grumpy and tired.

So I really cant wait for my hen do next Saturday which is going to be a spa day with my best friends and my mum.
I'm so going to make the most of the relax time I think.
I'm having a dermalogica facial, a hot stone back massage and a tummy wrap.. eeeekkkk I'm so excited. will definitively get as many pics as possible, but back to this weekend.

Saturday I went to pick up my wedding dress and veil so that's now hung up in my spare room, all clean and steamed.

Fun fact
Did you know it's best not to keep your dress in the plastic dress bag that you get with your dress?? It doesn't let your dress breathe and it gets all foisty.
So when I went to pick it up Wendy at the alteration shop asked me to bring a douvet cover with me as its made of cotton and it allows it to breathe and it stays fresh. No one wants a damp, limp looking wedding dress.

There was a Christmas fair at the museum near us there were raffles and cake stalls and a Santa inside the museum for the kids. Outside they had a fair ground and birds of prey so I took a few pics and pottered around the stalls and held an owl with the biggest eyes I've ever seen it was sooo cute. I wanted to stroke it but I wasn't allowed, booooo but it was still cute.

We also bought a baby Christmas tree, I've named it Teresa Green.
Haha get it?
Trees are green. . . . . . no? ok. Well I named it Teresa anyway. So cute.

Seems these weekly diary posts end up coming out on a Sunday.
So until next Sunday.. Laters x

Wedding Diary - Week 17th November 2014

This week, as I recently got a new laptop, I ordered a new laptop case and if I'm honest I'm kinda in love with it. It literally holds all of my gadgets and their many chargers.

I feel like Arial -

I've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs? I got twenty
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more......

Annnddd that's quite enough of that - way too much coffee... anyways.. it looks like this..
(the laptop bag.. just in case the song distracted you...I know you sang along, don't lie!)

I also had my hair trial this week for the wedding, so the plan is to
have my hair half up half down, back combed at the top for
my tiara to sit in front of an the bottom to be curly with a curled
thing going on where its clipped up, so that my veil can slide in
just above it. I have pics of my hair but no spoiler this time.
No tiara or veil.

Not exactly the best pic I have to say. I think I was fidgeting when
it was taken but you get the gist. I think all that's left to do now is
pay for the flowers.. otherwise I won't have any and ..... yea
I think that's it. All done and dusted. A lot of people have been
asking me if im nervous yet but weirdly enough, im not.
Not fussed in the slightest. ive already pretty much adopted his
name and I feel married to him already, we have been together
8 years, I don't think married life will be much different from
current life. Im sure I will be just as spoilt... just that afterwards
when we argue I can throw in... 'I am your wife!' which will
probably end any and all arguments (not that we ever have any)
because it would probably make us both laugh.

I think that's one of the most important things you need in a relationship. Laughter.
Everything can be fixed by laughter, happiness and smiling.
The best cure there is. Sorry for the mushiness... but it is true.

Lush - Dragon egg bath bomb

As promised, I did say I would film the things I accidentally bought in Lush last weekend.
So here it is, my favourite one: Dragon egg (not just for the name).

Now you have to appreciate it literally took 10 minutes for this thing to dissolve and I was mesmerised so I did have to edit the majority out as that would be pretty boring to watch without the smell but it did smell amazing and it was the first time I'd seen it, so to be fair I was a little bit (a lot) exited and I got the best bits in.

It smells of citrus and jasmine, and at the end (no spoilers) the water doesn't feel oily but it does leave your skin feeling slightly oily/moisturised and it also leaves a nice shimmer in the bath which you cant really see in the video as I didn't really see it my self til I jumped in.

Anyways ... enjoy!

Best get on with editing/filming the rest.

Wedding Diary - Week 10th November 2014

So this week started and ended the same as every other week except for it being
children in need on Friday. Then the weekend was busy, busy, busy.

So obviously...Muffin joined in as well as myself (sporting a nice England hoodie - It's freezing in that office) and my friend Martin at work. Some one said Martin looked like the green Teletubby HA made me giggle and pick on him for about half an hour... but the ears definitely suit me better lol. Anyone who doesn't know what a teletubby is... seriously... google it, it's hilarious.
On Saturday, me and my beloved went to register notice of marriage, where you have to go sign your life away along with £70 to register. We got taken into separate rooms to quizzed about each other and how long we had been together.... I mean let's be honest, I think anyone wanting to get a fake marriage would have revised for these kind of questions right, so I'm pretty sure the less answers you get right the more likely you've been together a fair while.

Anyway seems she was happy with the answers we gave.

We took a wonder into the room where we will get married and I was allowed to take a sneaky pic. So this is where it will be, she also said that they usually put up a Christmas tree so that will go with my Christmas/Winter theme so I hope they do.

Once everything was signed and all the information was printed she gave us it in a cute little folder, which also has all of our choices for the ceremony, like vows and music and stuff like that.. so I guess it's kind of official, we're getting married Christmas Eve.

Really excited now everything is sorted, I just need to pay for the flowers and we're done. I've decided to go for Poinsettia as it is Christmas and they are the most Christmassy flower you can get. We figured they would look nice with white Roses. The lady making the flowers for me found me this pic, we can get my bouquet like this, my bridesmaids' similar but more white than red as they will be wearing red dresses and button holes for my hubby and dad and a cute corsage for my mum. They should look lovely with the red dress/white dress theme. Especially if there is a Christmas tree. Cant wait for the pics.
Also next Wednesday I'm going to get my hair trial done to see how I want it, I haven't fully decided yet, but my cousin is a hairdresser and she will be doing it for me  so I trust her to make it perfect...no pressure lol.

Maybe I'll get a sneaky pic of that too to add to my blog next week.

Lush Haul

So today I had a slight accident, I fell in to Lush in Leeds, knocked a load of Bath bombs and
bubble bars into a basket then accidentally dropped my card at the till where the basket
had appeared out if nowhere.

 Ha so clumsy

But my house does smell amazing after I somehow lost my memory of bringing all that lush home with me....

How very Christmassy..

Sorry, I knocked over quite a few....

Few more keep scrolling..

AND DONE.. well done you for sticking with it.. I almost gave up myself.

See there weren't thaaattt many...kinda..

So I cant explain how each one smells because they all just smell amazing, but what I can do is film one each week and upload on my blog for you to watch, coz nice like that lol
(apart from the hand cream..that obviously doesn't do anything so filming would be pointless)

That one I can describe it's quite thick and soaks in really well, I've only used this on my hands baring in mind... it's technically my boyfriends/soon to be husbands.
He has really dry sore hands and he really likes it too.

It smells really nice but we already knew it would as we already have the Karma bubble bar.

It doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy afterwards either.

What I love about Lush is that it' all hand made and they don't test on animals... also the fact that if you take 5 clean tubs back you get a fresh mask free just puts the cherry on the top for me.

Love this brand and love the scents.

Keep an eye out for my Lush haul videos.

Hot or Not - Lip balms

Lip Balm

Ello..me again, So I'm a total goo hoarder and I'm not even joking.. these are just a few that I found in my bag. I have more laying around the house.

Clockwise: Maybelline Baby Lips, Nivea Essential Care x2, Nivea Pearly Shine,
Born Lippy - Mango Peach Lip Balm, Vaseline, Cocoa Lip Butter.

I do use all of these on and off and I keep buying more, may be slightly addicted... total hoarder.
One that I got free last year when I bought a load of xmas presents is this one:

Born Lippy - Mango Peach Lip Balm

This one is actually my favourite at the moment, It's such a nice lip balm to use. It's so thick but not sticky and its really easy to apply. It's not too different from the Vaseline but I find it tends to stay better and last longer AND smells soooo nice. It comes in loads of different colours/flavours/smells.
I will definitely be buying this again, maybe even try a different smell and I may even hoard more than one because I love them.

Give it a try and let me know what you think of them.

Wedding Diary - Week 3rd November 2014

Wedding Diary

Week - 3rd November

Well what a quiet week I've had, with everything being almost ready for the wedding
it feels like nothing needs to be done but I know that's not right.
I have literally got a list of things that still need doing. It's just that everything now is
waiting on dates or appointments or other people.

Although not quite wedding related, I did pass my
Theory test on Tuesday so I'm really happy about that.
I can't wait to get through the practical and get a car!! SOOO EXCITED!
I think having my own car would have majorly helped with the wedding planning.

Especially for days like earlier on today (Saturday 8th) I had to go to Stitches,
which is owned my Wendy and she does all sorts or tailoring, alterations and repairs,
also she gets things like veils and other normal clothes dry cleaned. So far she has altered
my dress and given me some great advice on taking care of it. She's a little star.

Anyone who lives near the Leeds area, she's definitely worth a look up.

It looks quite an old fashioned little shop but she is amazing at what she does and she's
been doing it for over 20 years.

As well as going there and back for alterations we have been to pick up a suit jacket and
get a waist coat exchanged. So having my own car would definitely have helped,
at the moment I get driven around like royalty by my dad, bless his heart.

So as I said in my last blog my wedding dress is based on Belle's dress from beauty and
the beast so Wendy advised I should get a hoop to go under my dress which should
make walking with ridiculous amounts of material around me a lot easier and also
make it 'swish' I think by the time Wendy said swish I was sold, so my bridesmaid
has been searching high and low for one. I was quite surprised that you can find them pretty
cheap online I think Rachel (my bridesmaid) found one for less than £15 on eBay... and to say
you're only going use it for one day to hold a dress up I don't really think it should be that expensive.

So I cant wait to get one and try my dress on with it underneath - may even add a pick on here
of it properly fitted.

Next week we have a meeting to go register the marriage at the registry office so that we
can get married at City Hall which apparently has a nice big staircase where you can have pics taken. So I'm excited for that. I'll also try and get pics as we will be going there next weekend.

Until next week

Hot or Not - Garnier Micellar Water

Garnier Micellar Water

I know this has been blogged about, a million times but seriously Garnier Micellar Water is amazing!! It is by far the best product of its kind that I've used. It removes make up better that an eye make up remover and its gentler on your skin.

You literally only need to wet a cotton pad and remove your makeup. No need for wiping or rinsing afterwards like you do with cream cleansers as it's just water. Also smells quite nice too.

I use this everyday to take my make up off and as its such a large bottle and you only need such a small amount this thing last ages! After removing my make up with this before bed, I use the Nivea Night Cream that I've previously blogged about. With it being water it also helps hydrate your skin. Just an amazing product. Perfect for any skin type.

Well worth it. Love this product.

Wedding Diary - Week 27th October 2014

Wedding Diary

Week - 27th October

I ordered a shrug to go over my wedding dress, and that was delivered on Monday to my best friend and bridesmaid Rachel and it looked so cute on the website (thats not me) lol.

Figured with the pearl detailing that it would look amazing as obviously i'm going to be wearing pearls. It was kind of a given since they were my Nana's pearls, so I have to wear them, think it would be rude not to. Anyways so that arrived and I picked it up Wednesday from my friend. We ordered it from Light in the box, now I'd never used this company before but my friend had, she used it to buy alsorts for her wedding and she said everything came in good time and all in amazing condition, so I gave it a go.
My shrug came pretty fast and the site has some really nice expensive looking stuff really cheap.

Definitely worth a look:
http://www.lightinthebox.com

Saturday was a busy day, we went to get my wedding dress altered and ordered suits and my bridesmaids dress was delivered so I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself.

When we went to get the dress altered the lady who altered it asked which princess dress it was, I was confused, didn't have a clue what she was talking about but she said it was an Alfred Angelo dress (which I knew) but apparently mine is one of the ones based on Disney princess dresses, so obviously I googled it as soon as I came out, turns out, mine is a Belle dress, from beauty and the beast. Guess that's why I liked it so much, I have a small obsession with Disney. So I'm thrilled lol this is the dress on the website. I will compare it to mine when I go and collect it next week. So excited.

Now I realise it already has the drapey shoulder bit, but, we are getting married on Xmas eve, so I'm pretty sure it's going to be cold. Plus the shrug came in a at such a good price I'd be crazy not to. It's not too weddingy so I could definitely reuse it on other occasions.

Most things are sorted for the wedding now, so not much really happening on the planning side of things this week. Although next week, we are going to register notice of marriage so that should be terrifying.

Updates next week x

Hot or Not - NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

NARS sheer glow foundation is such a nice, easy foundation to use.

When I bought the foundation the lady at the counter found the perfect shade for me, which is usually really difficult as I'm ridiculously pale. She did say that you only need a small amount and honestly you do, It spreads so well.

The sheer glow foundation is for dryer skin types so it's really hydrating and it makes your skin feel really soft  and smooth with a really good light feeling coverage.

It's a little bit more expensive than other ones on the market but so worth the price and as the lass at the counter said, as you only need a small amount it does make up for the price.
For me, so worth it.

Personally, after using this foundation I don't think I'll find another one that I like quite as much anytime soon.  Definitely love this product.

This one goes in my hot list.
