Mother Shiptons Cave

Last weekend we went to Mother Shipton's Cave, here are a few pics (ok, a lot of pics but still less than a quarter of total pics taken) I took while we were out and about.

This was the view on the way to the caves. It's such a beautiful area.

There are loads of carvings and sculptures along the way...
which is a bit weird, lets be honest.

And this, a coin log, has money bashed in to the sides. According to google, and google is never wrong its either to protect people walking through hallowed ground or a wishing tree. Personally I like the first explanation but that's just me. It also looks like it did come with a hammer attached...
 but not anymore..

This is the Well Spring, it feeds in to the petrifying well/waterfall and the wishing well beneath.

Spot the croc you get 5 points.

Oh FYI, the white flowers everywhere... that's wild garlic.

This is the petrifying well. Objects have been hung from here for years, turning them to stone.

This is the wishing well, which of course I made a wish in... just in case.

And a statue of Mother Shipton herself!

We also went to the museum.... by museum, I mean a small hut at the end with some of the things they had turned to stone.

This one made me laugh.

Just in case you're greedy with wishes, you can also buy unlimited wishes...

Not even joking.

Water from the wishing well has been bottled and is being sold for £3.00.

Hope you liked this post, it's more pics than anything.

Mother Shipton also made prophecies which have since come true. Find more info on her here.

Keep your peepers open for my next one. Tomorrow we head to Scarborough.
My favourite place on earth I think.

Dear Diary

I think this is going to be a bit like a dear diary type post because that's just how I'm feeling at the moment. Seems I only ever write in my diary when I'm upset or pissed off and it's usually to just empty my head so that I don't over think things. Which I'm really good at doing.

Recently I called an old friend that I don't really get to talk to any more (and you can take old as in know a long time or just old coz he is ha (joking)) because he has recently got back with his wife and she's all OTT paranoid about who he speaks to. So he is literally banned from speaking to anyone she doesn't approve of... being any female... period. Which I can understand knowing their situation. I also respect him for sticking with it because I know he really wants to give his marriage the best shot at working out. Hence why I don't really talk to him anymore, even though I work with him and could call him any time I wanted. I respect him enough to back off.

We do speak sometimes, as I said we work at the same company so it's inevitable that it's going to happen sometimes. We spoke the other day and he was the one that pretty much said I'm shit at updating my blog, which is true, sorry.

There is so much I cant say over a phone at work and cant say at all by text due to said wife and there's so much I want to talk to him about because he was such a good friend and support for me with my anxiety and panic attacks and just everything else we talked about and I wanted to
say thank you.

I really do miss him and I hope it's not too long before I get my friend back. We have so much to catch up on, not least of all me kicking his ass on xbox lol

It's a different post to my usual but I guess it had to be done, even if it's because I hope he sees it.

Making our house into a home

I've recently been told I'm shit at updating my blog...lol which yea, I'll give you that, I am. Having so many things to do recently updating my blog has kinda fallen by the way side.

SO here I am, updating you on what I've been up to:

We started decorating the Kitchen, we have tiles finally YAY. Just need to get some wallpaper on these old walls and its done!!

And we finally got the shower up, with the best shower curtain you've ever seen in your life!

Little bit obsessed with owl prints at the minute...

Next on the list is my bedroom.
Cant wait to do that, I already have the wall paper ready to go.

I'm making my best friend's sister a baby blanket so I'll put a pic of that up once its done, she's due in July I think so I cant wait to see her reaction when I give her it. Even my friend hasn't seen it yet so I'm keeping that under wraps until they have seen it but no doubt it will be on my instagram as soon as she sees it.

Also if you've been looking on my instagram, you will have these the coasters that I've started making. These are so easy to make!

There is 4 green for my mum, 2 red so far for my kitchen and the pink will match my bedroom once it's done.

So this is why I haven't updated my blog recently, busy busy busy.

Trip to Harrogate

On the Easter weekend we decided to take a trip to Harrogate.
I've since decided that I love this place.

We went to Beer n Burgers for lunch and omg I loved it. The burgers, the milkshake, the way it was all set out, all of it, it was amazing.

Just using a door as a table, as you do.

This how my milkshake came.

Yes this is a salt shaker!

It was different but I loved it.
Those of you with sharp eyes and an obsession with Lush will notice the Lush bag in the back ground of some of those pics. I admit it, I did buy a lot of lush.

Keep your peepers peeled for a lush haul coming soon.

Teatox...does it work? - The Update

As promised, this is an update on the teatox I started.

If you haven't see my previous post I have linked it here.
The teatox I tried is the Skinny Mint teatox which has the morning boost and night cleanse teas.

So I took it as instructed, I wouldn't say it tastes horrible, but it's not a taste I would pick to drink daily. I'm more of an Earl Grey - Bergamot and lemon girl myself but as I say neither of the teas where horrible.

I do think that maybe it could have helped as an appetite suppressant although I cant be 100% sure whether that was a subconscious choice to eat less or whether the tea actually had an affect. I was a little bit apprehensive about the night cleanse as it does say that it has a laxative effect and when you hear that you expect to be running to the loo but honestly it was nothing like that.

I did have a small trip to hospital recently and whilst trying to think of things that could have caused my symptoms; apart from stress this was the only thing I'd done differently. Honestly I do believe it was stress that caused my symptoms but I stopped taking the tea anyway.

Overall in the time I was taking the teatox I haven't noticed any dramatic difference in weight or inches around my waist so if I'm honest I don't think this teatox worked for me.
They do all say to maintain a healthy balanced diet and exercise which to be fair if you just stuck to that you would have the results you were after in the first place but you might think it was the teatox that was doing it.

I think the best way to detox is to do it how nature intended.

Did you know that if you drink the 8 cups of water that is recommended and if you spread them out throughout the day it will help suppress your appetite, increase energy and get rid of toxins in your body.... kind of what teatox says it does.

So I think I'll stick to my Earl Grey and increase my water intake.

I hope this helped and maybe saved you a few ££s on a teatox you probably don't really need.

In memory of

Hi guys, as you know I've taken up crafting, specifically knitting and crocheting and I've been learning and practicing the basic stitches.

My nana used to crochet a lot and I really wish I had taken it up sooner because I could have learned from her and I would have been able to ask her how she made every doyley that my mum still owns, so in loving memory of my nana I have stolen (borrowed) all doyleys in an effort to figure out how she made them.

Some where quite simple so those have since been returned to their places under potted plants all over mums house but this is one I kept and attempted to copy.

Nana's original one is the white on; mine I did in red to match the theme of my kitchen and now sits under my wedding Posey that is also red and is kept in my kitchen.

This is what I've been up to since last night.

Just while were talking crochet.... I finished my blanket yay, I even made a 3 layered flower and decided to add it to the middle.

I'm quite happy with them as first attempts.

Watch this space, lots more to come.

Look what has arrived! Teatox!!

Yay the Skinny Mint teatox has finally arrived.... by that I mean we finally went to the post office to pick it up.

I know it was a little while ago so I've linked my original post,
 Teatox...does it work?

So lets get on with it shall we:

This is what I ordered and I got another 28 day Morning Boost free.
Bonus!

Each bag re-sealable. Handy..

You can tell a difference in the tea bags straight away, in scent and in appearance.

And to top it all off the back of each packet tells you what each of the tea bags
have in them and their properties.

The morning boost has these natural ingredients:

Green Tea - Boosts energy, improves immunity and burns calories.
Yerba Mate - Boosts metabolism and curbs appetite.
Nettle Leaves - Natural diuretic and antioxidant.
Dandelion - Improves digestion, detoxifies and cleanses.
Guarana - Increases physical endurance, alertness and stimulates digestion.
And it also has hints of grapefruit, strawberry and pineapple for taste.

The night cleanse has these natural ingredients:

Ginger root - Anti-bloating and detoxifying.

Orange leaves - Improves digestion and promotes good sleep.
Lemon grass - Anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and enhances complexion.
Senna leaves - Natural laxative, anti-bloating and reduces appetite.
Licorice root - releaves cramps and constipation.
And it also has peppermint, hawthorn berry and psylium husk to make it even more affective.

So I'm going to start these tomorrow morning after weighing myself and as these claim to help you lose inches, I'm also going to measure myself and keep a track of this so that I can let you know any differences. Fingers crossed!

Until next time x

Gina xoxo
